Spring Lippies For Pale Skin

Even though it's only just starting to feel like spring with the weather we're having, I've been really into some new brighter shades. So I thought I'd share some of my fave spring lippies! I have quite pale skin and I find these shades to be particularly complimentary for me, however I'm sure they suit other skin tones too.

First up is Soap and Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Fuscia.
As you probably know from the last post I'm going a bit crazy for Soap and Glory at the moment. I've already tried the Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss and found it to be brilliant so I wondered if this would live up to my expectations, but I think I actually prefer the Gloss Stick! It's not as sticky as the lipgloss, but still gives a hint of that tingly sensation. The color comes out really strong and lasts quite well.
I love this color and find it really wearable, it's lovely and bright and is perfect for day wear or evening wear!

I picked up mine in boots for around €8.99 but you can also get them direct from the Soap and Glory website.

Next up is Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake. This is a great, girly colour. A nice shiny pink. I found the lipstick really felt as though it were moisturising my lips. This is a great daytime lippie and really brings out blue eyes.

I got mine in Boots for around €10.

My nest spring shade is another Revlon Lip Butter, this time in Pink Truffle.
this is a darker more grown up pink. Lovely for evening or day wear. I actually can't take this off at the moment, it's my favorite lipstick for miles. It's got a sophisticated feel to it and it works well with a pale skin tone.

The same as the last Lip Butter I got it in Boots too for around €10.

Another Revlon product! This is Revlon Baby Stick Lip & Cheek Tint in Sunset. This is a versatile product that can be used for both lips and cheeks with always saves a bit of room in the handbag. It's not a very pigmented colour and just gives a slight orangey reddish balm effect. However I like this for a more natural and neutral look, it isn't too heavy and thats what I like about it.

I've hear of people disliking these as they found they didn't show up very well on their skin. However this isn't the case with me, but that could be because I'm as white as a milk bottle haha. Although I did find that if used without lip balm it can become quite drying on the lips after repeated use.
I got it in Boots for around €7

Barry M Lip Paint in Coral (53) is a gorgeous orangey shade that would work well with a lot of skin tones. It's got a slight shimmer to it which is lovely and it really brightens up your complexion. However if you have dry chapped lips this will show up pretty clearly with this lipstick. So make sure to keep them hydrated or wear a lip balm.

I got it in Boots for around €5.99 but you can also purchase straight from Barry M himself on their website.

Well that's my favorite Spring lipstick shades. Let me know what you think, do you have any favorites that I should take a look at?

Soap & Glory Haul!

Boots 3 for 2 offer has sent me into a shopaholic frenzy! I went in 3 days in a row last week! I bought these goodies on the first day. I was in desperate need of lip balm as my lips were just flaking away and I ended up with the other two beauts!

So I picked up Smooch Operator Lip Balm. It smells absaloutely gorgeous, it healed up my lips in a couple of days and it leaves a lovely tingly feeling on them. I would deffo recommend, it's a bit like Caramax except with a gorgeous smell, it even tastes delicious haha! I can't remember the exact price but I think it was around €8 which I felt it was definitely worth.

I was a bit skeptical of the Kick Ass Concealer as it was only available in one shade and I thought it might be a bit dark for me.

I found the more orange shade a bit too dark but I really love the yellowy one, it brightens up my under eye area wonderfully. I also love the setting powder that's included, it's very light and this goes really well with my really fair skin tone! I don't know how well it would work on other skin tones but it suits mines perfectly. It cost nearly €15 which is a bit expensive for the budget I'm on, but I think it's a good price for the quality of the product.

Last but not least is Flake Away, an exfoliator for your legs. Its about time I scrubbed the winter feeling out of my legs and get them ready for summer shorts and skirts.

The scrub smelled amazing and looked and felt like melted sugar, with makes sense as it's made from shea butter, sugar and peach seed. My legs felt perfectly polished after I used this and really deeply cleaned. I have quite sensitive skin and I thought that maybe I might have reaction but it was fine! It cost around €10 with was decent I thought.

So that's everything. I definitely recommend trying these products out. If I had to pick a favorite I'd probably pick Flake Away because I really felt a huge difference after using it. However I really loved everything. Run into Boots during the 3 for 2 offer and grab yourself a few pieces!

You can also buy online at Soap & Glorys website.

Let me know what you think and do you recommend any other Soap and Glory products, I'm dying to try a few more!

Body Shop Body Butter

I got this as a present about a month or so ago and I couldn't get over how much I loved it!
It smells absolutely delicious!! I just can't help but lather it on a few times a day! I'm usually an awfully forgetful person so my skincare routine never gets too elaborate and often times I would be too lazy to properly moisturize my whole body, but with this Body Butter I never forget. My skin is soft and smells good enough to eat!

As you can see there isn't much left in this tub as I've been over indulging in it. I'm planning on picking up another Body Butter or two in the next couple of weeks.

The only thing that is off putting is the price.
In the shop Body Shop these body butters retail at around €18.95 which is very steep!!
If you buy straight from their online store you can get certain tubs at about £5 when I last checked, some sort of sale I think? So that's a bit better. I don't know what p&p is but I'm sure even converted to euros that would still end up cheaper than in store.
Anyway, let me know what you think, is there anywhere you can grab a body butter bargain?

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Prickly Pear

So I'm finally getting around to reviewing Barry M's Gelly Hi Shine! I got it around the same time as the textured effects nail paint.
I picked it up in Prickly Pear (gnp6) which is a lilac colour with a slight bluish undertone. the color is lovely, gives any look a great pop!

While it's described as 'Hi Shine' I didn't notice anything ridiculously different in the shine department, nothing that you couldn't add to another polish with a good top coat. It took just about 2 coats for an even coverage which I thought was decent.

I found this polish to be extremely hard wearing, I had it on for about a week and only noticed a few chips at the tips, I thought this was brill as usually my polish won't last a few days without a top coat!
I'm definitely gonna pick these up in a few other colours because of this, the Lychee (a gorgeous off white) and Satsuma (a lovely reddish orange) shades really appeal to me.

I picked mine up at Boots for 5.99eur, you can also get them directly from the Barry M website.

Rimmel London Apocalips in Stellar

Hi everyone! i'm finally on my Easter holidays from college and even though I have a lot of college work to get through I'm sure that I'll be posting a lot more regularly here.

I was really looking forward to trying out Rimmel's Apocalips when I heard about their release, there was a lot of good feedback on a lot of blogs reviews I read of this product, but I'm not sure if it lived up to the hype for me.

I loved the packaging of this!! Really cool, unique design. There are 8 shades, Celestial, Galaxy, Apocaliptic, Big Bang, Nude Eclipse, Nova, Stellar and Luna. I chose the shade 'Stellar' as I felt it was a nice bright orangey red shade. I think the color is really bold, not something for the faint hearted, and although I've worn it a few times I think I would probably get more wear out of Nova or Luna, which are more toned down peachy, neutral shades.

The pigment of this lip lacquer can't be faulted. It's bright, not patchy at all, with a nice sheen. However if you're eating or drinking it can get all over the place, I even ended up looking slightly like the Joker when I took a bite out of a burger forgetting I had it on haha! It does also tend to get all over teeth, sleeves and boyfriends.
It doesn't leave a sticky feeling at all and it is quite easy to forget you have it on I suppose, although after a while I could feel it drying out my lips slightly, and that could be a big problem for me as I have very sensitive skin. However I've asked friends and they said they didn't really notice this so it could just be me.
(excuse the breakout on my chin, having a bad week skin wise)

I felt that for the price this is a good product, maybe if you're going out for a few drinks or just dandling about work or college, where you have plenty opportunities to re apply. However if I was going out for dinner or a hard night drinking on the town I'd probably give this a miss as it could get very messy haha!

I got mine in boots for a reasonable 7.95eur.
What do you think, experiencing any of the same problems? Do you think the different shades make it easier to wear?
I'm off to the gym now to try Zumba for the first time, nervous but excited!!

Make Up Of The Day!

So thought I'd do a post of the makeup I'm wearing today! I really need to get a new foundation, if anybody has any suggestions? I can't find any shade pale enough in most brands!

I love using Benetint on my lips and then putting a their shimmery Sugarbomb lipgloss over it! Give such a lovely shiny pink result! Also I'm mad about Urban Decay's eyebrow box, my eyebrows are completely blonde so this is brilliant at filling them in. I'd look like a crazy alien with no eyebrows without it haha!

Rimmel's Scandaleyes is a really good mascara for the price in my opinion, it really opens up your eyes and, unless you overdo it like I have in the past, it's relatively clump free!

Anyway, I'm off to City Centre to apply for some jobs, wish me luck!

Barry M Textured Nail Effects -Kingsland Road

I have always been a big fan of Barry M nail polish, and have quite an extensive collection to be honest, so I was more than excited when I heard they had released a new Textured Nail Effects line as well as new Gelly Nail effects. I picked up a bottle of the Textured Nail Effects polish today in Kingsland Road (tnp3). Hopefully I can accumulate the rest of the collection quickly as they're all such gorgeous pastel shades and I really want to try them!

Kingsland Road is quite a pale, soft pink, it reminded me of candy floss! I found I needed at least two coats, and that it was a little runny and hard to control. It also took quite a long time to dry, I was worried that it wasn't going to turn out as well as I'd been hoping as it was nearly 15 mins before they were dry enough to see the final result.

However, once dry it really did look lovely, like I'd dipped my nails in pink sugar! The finish felt like I had as well. I really love the look of this and I can't wait to try the rest of the colours.

I picked mine up in Boots for 5.99eur. You can also but them online from the directly from the Barry M website.

Tell me what you think! Will you be getting them?
